A trip to Mt Fuji

The train hummed along the tracks, crammed with travellers. We only had one day left on our trip in Japan and we needed to see Mt Fuji. For the past 8 days, it was overcast and raining, Mt Fuji was hiding in the clouds. This was our only opportunity. Outside the window, the urban landscape began to give way to sprawling fields and distant mountains, hinting at the majesty that lay ahead. The forecast promised clear morning skies, a fleeting window of brilliance before the gloom of the afternoon would settle back in. The train stopped at Fujiyoshida, this is us, most of the passengers were heading further in, but we knew we only had a short time before the clouds would once again hide the peaks that I was so keen to photograph. But first, Coffee.
