Tasmania’s great Lakes
Tasmania is one of those places where every corner, every stretch of road, makes your jaw drop – just quietly, in awe.
Each lake more beautiful than the last.
We stayed in a cabin in the Great Lakes area. Quiet. Cozy. The kind of place that makes you wonder what it would feel like in the middle of winter, snow falling outside, the world slowed right down.
I guess we’ll have to come back to find out.
Jason put the outdoor fire pit to good use, cooking a traditional “Jason style” breakfast – crispy bacon, eggs, sourdough – all cooked over the flames in our trusty cast iron pan.
(And yes, before you ask, of course we brought the knives, the pans, and the coffee setup.)
Sitting inside all day isn’t really our thing. It was a little windy, but we were here to explore – and to fish, so we headed out across the lakes.
I don’t even think Jason cast a line in some places.
Some were too windy.
Others… too beautiful to interrupt.
Sometimes just being there is enough.
And at the end of it, it was good to return to that cabin: warm, comfortable, and of course the open fire pit.
Jason was in his element. Cooking over fire. Being out in nature.
This is what we love.
This is us.
This is what Thomson Knife is all about.
See you out there.
